There is simply no place on earth more suitable for honeymoons than the Maldives. And a Maldives honeymoon package could tick all your boxes.
The level of privacy is as high as the number of distractions is low. This is the perfect place for 'you and me time'. There are no hawkers coming past the front of your room offering you sarongs, sunglasses and souvenirs. There are no touts offering you taxi tours of the local sights and discounts to local bars and nightclubs. In the Maldives, it's just you two on the verandah, the beach, the lagoon and the deep blue sea.
At the same time, as honeymooners, you want your 'specialness' to be acknowledged. Be that a bottle of wine on ice and a fruit basket upon arrival and a petal-decorated bed when you return from dinner. Or maybe one of the more elaborate packages that good resorts put together that include a sunset dhoni trip for two (accompanied by dolphins perchance) and a butler-served candlelit dinner in the lagoon shallows looking out to the full moon.
Almost every resort has something to offer the honeymoon couple and almost all have their own variation of the renewal of vows pageant with local colour and fabulous locations. But I've chosen 7 resorts that I think really have the ideal combination of beautiful island, beautiful locations and brilliant honeymoon offerings. Staff that put themselves out for their honeymoon guests and islands that just sing 'this is all about you, me and paradise'. This is why I feel 100% happy recommending a honeymoon in the Maldives
Unfortunately Maldivian law does not enable you to actually get married in the Maldives as a tourist, which is why many couples opt to do a two centre Maldives honeymoon package. This means maybe the first week is spent in Sri Lanka where the ceremony takes place.
Alive with activities and charming flora, this resort has a friendly village feel. Come to dine well in classy comfort, and enjoy the chic pool, island spa and surf school.
